We already know that Apple will unveil the start of its M4 Mac line this week. The M4 iMac was the first M4 Mac announced, and M4 versions of the MacBook Pro are also expected this week, alongside a redesigned Mac mini. However, we don’t have to wait for an official announcement to get our first look at the new Mac mini. We now also know the top specifications of the yet to be announced M4 Pro chip.
As part of the M4 iMac comparison page, Amazon has preemptively published top specs for the M4 Mac mini. This includes a visual that gives us a taste of the Mac Studio-like design of the more compact Mac mini.
The M4 Mac mini comes with an M4 Pro variant, which is also being unveiled for the first time. According to the comparison page, the M4 Mac mini can be configured with up to 14-core CPU, 20-core GPU, 64 GB RAM and 8 TB SSD. The ports on the front appear to be two USB-C ports and possibly a 3.5mm headphone jack.
In comparison, the M2 Pro Mac mini can be configured up to 12-core COU, 19-core GPU and with 32 GB of RAM.
We expect the new Mac mini to be announced on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. For now, the clip art of the new design gives us an idea of what to expect: a compact Mac Studio with professional performance.
Finally, the comparison table suggests there is no Mac Studio update this week. This is in line with our expectations.
Here’s the comparison chart as it appears on the Amazon store listing for the new M4 iMac:
