Nintendo Switch firmware updated to version 19.0.1 (patch notes)

Nintendo hasn’t really done much with the Switch’s firmware lately. The last few updates, including versions 18.0.0 and 19.0.0, have included very few new additions. Beyond that, smaller updates have been released periodically, and even a handful of single “rebootless” updates. Now that the Switch is on the way, Nintendo has focused more on the console’s stability.

Well, Nintendo just released a new update. After performing the update, the switch’s firmware should now be at version 19.0.1. It’s not surprising, but this update doesn’t really do much. Its main purpose relates to solving a number of problems. That said, the official patch notes haven’t been released in English yet, but they are available in Japanese. Below you can see a social media post relaying the news, as well as their translation of Nintendo of Japan’s patch notes.

  • Fixed an issue where GameCube controllers might not be recognized.
  • Fixed an issue where communication processes such as downloads may not function correctly in sleep mode.
